With more than 35 years of experience in fund development and nonprofit leadership, Sheryl has had the opportunity to work with industry leaders in health care, education, the arts and culture, aging and social services.

Sheryl began her career as associate producer for a weekly documentary program, MONTAGE, winning numerous broadcast awards for the television program broadcast on NBC’s affiliate stations in Cleveland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and New York city. Following, she held numerous leadership positions throughout her lengthy career with a number of organizations and institutions in the nonprofit industry.

In past years, she served as Head of the Office of Corporate Secretary and a member of the Board for a public hospital system, providing executive level support to the President and CEO, serving as Chief of Administrative Staff and having responsibility for the System Foundation. Later, serving as leader in a very different industry environment, she led a regional association for the visual and performing arts and cultural institutions where she designed an educational partnership with the local public school system, supporting the goal to expand the link for the arts and cultural industry to regional priorities. During her tenure as Executive Director, she grew the association membership from 21 to 51 institutions in just 6 years.

Sheryl has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of individuals from young children to older adults. She spent time in senior leadership for a private, non profit K-12 school, managing fund development and IT, as well as staff supporting the constituent-based associations. In a similar capacity she devoted her efforts to a social service organization, where she managed robust funding initiatives that sustained the organization and helped to launch a program for young women aging out of foster care, including the construction of ‘Independence Place’, supportive housing with training programs to support their future success.

As Chief Advancement Officer for a multi-site, nonprofit aging services organization, Sheryl generated significant funding to support the launch of a non-pharmacological program enhancing the quality of life for older adults living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. She both generated the necessary funding and subsequently conducted a nationally supported clinical trial to determine the program’s efficacy, recruiting 1O aging services organizations from around the country for participation and the medical and other clinical professionals for appropriate direction.

Her experience in the many industries is tremendously extensive, including Board development, organizational development, strategic planning, construction management and comprehensive health care experience. Sheryl has served in leadership with national foundations, partnering with major colleges and universities, working with local, state and federal offices, as well as serving on critical committees for federal agencies. She has served on the Boards of nonprofit, as well as for-profit institutions and organizations.

Throughout, Sheryl has dedicated her career to furthering the success of organizations and institutions that serve broad constituencies and provide public benefit. As a Senior Search Consultant with The Moran Company, she will focus her efforts for the benefit of the mission and purpose of each and every organization, recognizing that the excellence of the team is ultimately what determines the achievement of goals. Sheryl holds a BS in Bio-Chemistry from the University of Nebraska.
